Physical Rehabilitation Program

The Physical Rehabilitation consists of the following departments:

• Inpatient clinics:

Inpatient clinics provide complete care services in addition to supportive consultations, which are internal medicine services, physical medicine services, neurological consultations, and orthopedic consultations. Patients are also followed up through scheduled physical therapy sessions and follow-up sessions. All patients are followed up with 24/7 monitoring.
Patients admitted to the center receive full feeding and health care services in addition to protection and discharge activities that are carried out on a daily basis. All safety and confidentiality rules that preserve patient privacy are also observed.

• Outpatient clinics:

This activity includes initial consultation services and receiving patients who suffer from movement and neurological disorders. Physical advice is provided by the specialist doctor, and a treatment plan and periodic follow-up are developed for them within the halls. These sessions are under high and strict medical supervision.

• Movement training hall:

This site ensures the provision of training sessions that develop the movement capabilities of patients, especially (war patients, amputee patients, and skeletal and neurological injuries that limit the beneficiary’s movement). This hall includes equipment to help patients gain proper control and training during the rehabilitation phase to enable patients to walk in a controlled and sound manner. The movement training hall includes the following equipment:
– Parallel (which parallels the weight and movement of the body and is supported by handles for control)
– Supported staircase (which parallels the movement of, ascending, and descending the body)
– Mirror (which teaches movement visually and imaginatively)

• The Kinetic gym:

This gym includes physical therapy sessions for patients with recent and chronic motor and neurological injuries. The gym contains several devices that help patients strengthen muscle and sensory mass and develop motor abilities with a limited number of technically controlled auxiliary equipment. The following equipment is used in the kinetic gym:
– Walking mat to enable running movements
– Walking simulator
– Bobath bed
– Stationary bicycle to strengthen muscle mass
– Shoulder wheel to strengthen the shoulder muscles
– Fixed wooden ladder
– Standing table to enable paralyzed patients to stand
– Square head chair
– Children’s standing table
– Dumbbles
– Lumbar traction device for disc patients
– An electrical current device for analgesia and stimulation

• The Electrical Stimulation Hall:

In the electrical Stimulation Hall, physical therapy sessions are supported using advanced electrical equipment with different treatment methods. The electrical Stimulation Hall helps the physical therapist conduct sessions in a controlled manner for patients with peripheral and central nerve injuries, tendon injuries, and post-burn contractures. The electrical Stimulation Hall includes the following equipment:
– Paraffin wax device (used to lengthen and shorten tendons, scars, and contraction deformities)
– Ultrasound device (it works to increase blood flow, remove muscle contractions and adhesions, and increase deep heat)
– Electrical stimulation device (used to develop sensory and cognitive skills)
These departments and their services are interconnected, as patients undergo several activities and interventions to ensure integrated treatment within controlled and high quality and within international protocols. For example, The patient undergoes treatment in the Electrical Stimulation Hall, then he/she will be referred to the movement hall in order to follow the previously established treatment plan, and electrical and movement therapy is provided as needed and within the instructions of the specialist doctor and the protocols for treating people with disabilities.

Psychological and Social Support

The department is dedicated to providing tailored psychological and social assistance to patients and their families, acknowledging the unique circumstances they face. These efforts aim to ease their burdens and mitigate the psychological aftermath of the challenges confronted by individuals with disabilities in society.
The objective of psychological support initiatives is to instill hope among individuals with disabilities, bolster their self-assurance, and equip them with strategies to confront challenges positively. Such psychosocial support services are extended to patients, their families, and their caregivers throughout their treatment journey at the center.
